Mianus River Gorge is grateful for the leadership and support of its Treasurer, Kathryn Hoenig.
Kathryn has been a board member for five years, recently stepping into the role of Treasurer. She brings a wealth of experience from her professional career, community volunteer work, and from her participation on other boards.
Kathryn’s contributions to the topic at hand are always thoughtful and forward-thinking. Her desire to help the Mianus River Gorge raise its profile in the community motivates staff and fellow board members to seek opportunities to share our important work more broadly.
Two of Kathryn’s sons participated in MRG’s Research and Education program for high school students. Most recently, her son Will Maynard worked on a two-year regional black bear study conducted with partnering organizations in Westchester, Putnam, and Fairfield Counties. He presented a research poster and spoke at the 2019 Northeast Natural History Conference before heading off to college.
Kathryn is a woman with a vision, and the Gorge is fortunate that she is willing to take on any challenge and help see it through.
