A Closer Look at Piping Brook

Date/Time
Date(s) - 11/07/2021
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Location
Across from 5 Mianus River Rd.

MRG Executive Director Rod Christie will introduce you to Piping Brook, a contributing tributary to the Mianus River, and the habitats that comprise the riparian corridor. This protected area is not normally open to the public, so you’ll have special access to the high ridges and rocky outcrops above and the wetlands and brook below. Learn about the natural history of the area and keep an eye out for evidence of bobcats, minks, and the other rare wildlife that reside here today.

This is a moderate walk of about one mile over up-and-down topography. As a reminder, dogs are not allowed on this walk or anywhere in Mianus River Gorge Preserve.

RSVP to info@mianus.org or (914) 234-3455.
